Of course swimming, surfing, water-skiing, boating, jet skiing and all other water sports are on top of the list of the leisure activities.

But Florida also offers other opportunities:

Favored by the flat topography, biking is getting more and more popular. Florida Department of Transportation (605 Suwanee St., Mail Room Station 19, Tallahassee, Fl. 32399-0450) has published Bicycle Trail Guides as well as 11 maps with biking routes between 30 and 300 miles length.

Numerous rivers and even some areas within the Everglades National Park are available for canoeists. There are more than 950 miles of marked canoe-routes in Florida. (Florida Department of Natural Resources, Office of Communications, Marjorie Stoneman Douglas Building, 3900 Commonwealth Blvd., Tallahassee, Fl. 32399-3000)

Angler and fishermen find an extraordinary wide offer. Seasons and rules vary from town to town, the fees by the same token! (Florida Sea Grant Extension Program, Room G-022, Mc Carthy Hall, University of Florida, Gainesville, Fl.32611)

Florida is famous for its golf courses. There are about 950 and most of them welcome guests at any time. In Cape Coral the costs vary between 20 and 40 USD per day.

Tennis courts are countless in Florida.
